IIIT Hyderabad Launches AI/ML Training Program for Top Engineering

iHub-Data, the prestigious Technology Innovation Hub established by the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad, has announced a year-long weekend training program on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) exclusively for top-performing engineering students from colleges in and around Hyderabad. The program aims to equip students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in AI/ML, catering to the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the industry.    

The training classes, scheduled to take place every Sunday, will require the physical presence of participating students. Renowned faculty members from IIIT Hyderabad, along with other eminent resource persons, will engage the students through a combination of theory, tutorials, and project-based learning, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of AI/ML concepts.    

Recognizing the importance of training students who reside in close proximity, IIIT Hyderabad has prioritized the selection of candidates from local engineering colleges. With Hyderabad being home to numerous IT industries and research establishments, all of which have a high demand for proficient AI/ML professionals, this initiative aims to bridge the skill gap and meet industry requirements.    

Prof. Jawahar CV, Dean of Research & Development at IIIT Hyderabad, expressed the institute's commitment to fostering talent in the region, stating, "Training students from nearby localities, who are within commuting distance has always been a priority for our institute. The proximity of a large number of IT industries and research establishments, all having a strong demand for highly skilled AI/ML professionals, led us to this decision."    

Heads and Deans of Departments/Institutes offering four-year undergraduate programs in Engineering are invited to recommend two prospective students from their institutions, preferably from the second or third year, who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The program's fees have been waived for selected students, on the condition that they successfully complete the training program with a minimum attendance of 80%. However, students will be required to provide a caution deposit as a guarantee of course completion.
