Shoolini University Ranks as No. 2 Private Young University

Shoolini University, located in Solan, India, has achieved remarkable recognition by securing the position of the No. 2 Private University among young universities in the country, according to The Young University Rankings 2023. The announcement comes shortly after Shoolini University claimed the top spot among private universities in India in both the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023 and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 2024.  

The Young University Rankings 2023 category specifically focuses on universities established within the past 50 years. Despite its relatively young age of 13 years, Shoolini University decided to participate in these rankings for the first time and has achieved an impressive ranking. The top position in the young universities category went to the public sector Mahatma Gandhi University, followed by JSS Academy, and then Shoolini University. Notably, these three universities are the only Indian institutions to secure spots in the Top 100 World List. Mahatma Gandhi University claimed the 77th rank, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research secured the 79th rank, and Shoolini University secured the 91st spot.    

Out of a total of 655 globally ranked universities, only 45 Indian institutions managed to make the list, demonstrating the significance of Shoolini University's achievement. Last year, out of 539 globally ranked universities, only 40 Indian institutions were included.    

Expressing his pride in the university's accomplishments, Chancellor Prof. Expressing immense pride, Chancellor Prof. PK Khosla emphasized the significance of Shoolini University's debut in the Young Universities list and its placement among the top three universities in the country. He acknowledged the university's consistent global recognition, which serves as a catalyst for further progress and improvement in the future.    

Vice Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla extended congratulations to the staff and students for their contributions to the university's success story and expressed hope that Shoolini University's string of achievements would inspire other universities to excel.    

In the previous year's list, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research secured the top spot, with IIT Ropar ranking 81st and IIT Indore securing the 86th position. However, this year, IIT Ropar slipped to the band of 101-150 rankings.    

It is worth noting that Shoolini University has consistently excelled in THE Rankings, including the World Universities, Subject Rankings, Asia, and now the Young Universities Rankings.    

The rankings evaluate universities based on their core missions, encompassing teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons. Shoolini University's achievements in these rankings underscore its commitment to excellence across these domains.
